We had a relaxing time there. Lots of time was spent enjoying the Saskatchewan sunshine and the hot weather. Jaret liked spending time with his cousins - most of this time was spent in my sister's backyard in the pool. When they weren't in the pool, they could often be found in a shady spot in the yard on the iPad. The kids also set up a lemonade stand one afternoon and made a little money off the rest of us - it was such a hot day and the lemonade was cold. Jaret enjoyed doing the lemonade stand and was thinking of all the ways he could make more money at it. All the way home he was talking about how he could do it better with setting up signs and all the things aside from lemonade he could sell. He must be his father's son. Another highlight for Jaret was going to Chuck E. Cheese one afternoon. He had fun playing all the games and seeing how many tickets he could get for his prizes.
We had some excellent meals while there. My sister is a wonderful cook and made a couple of meals. She did one teriyaki and one greek rotisserie chicken on the bbq with baby potatoes one evening. It is great eating a yummy meal outside after a full day of sun and time with family. We followed that up with a fire. Jaret likes to roast marshmallows but Kirra does not like the fire. She was so tired that she cuddled with my mom and fell asleep on her chest. When we went to do a fire a few nights later though, Kirra didn't want to come into the backyard because the fire scared her.
My Grandma Mary came for a visit while we were there and so it was nice to catch up with her as well. One not so nice part of the trip was having my gum surgery done. I had been meaning to get it done for years and the time had finally come. Dad did a great job but it was a complex process of using connective gum tissue to stitch on to the lower, front teeth where I had some receding due to my braces years ago. But, it is all good and things should heal nicely. It is just a little difficult to eat right now. It looks like I will be back in Regina in a couple of weeks to get my stitches out. So, will see how it all turned out then.
Always good to spend time with family and we were grateful for the visit. Thanks Mom and Dad and Lis and Trev.
