Trip to Humboldt

We have been home for a couple of days from our week out in Humboldt and I am just now getting around to doing a post - ooops. It always takes a while to get back into routine, especially with such nice summer days, and with so much to catch up on.
We drove out to Humboldt on Wednesday but of course, made a stop at Fuddrucker's in Saskatoon for supper. We also took Jaret and Kirra for a quick trip to Rucker's as a treat for travelling so well thus far. Jaret loved that experience and can't wait to go back to Saskatoon to go to Rucker's.
We had a wonderful time in Humboldt and Jaret and Kirra loved being at Grandma and Grandpa's. Thursday night included a Stella & Dot Jewelry Show for Terry's Mom; while Jaret and Kirra got to go the park and then to DQ with Dad and Grandpa. Friday was spent playing in the yard and feeding the birds. That evening we went to meet Justin (Terry's nephew) and Vanessa's baby - Jayden. Kirra was so taken with the baby and kept trying to kiss him and even wanted to hold him. Which she got to do with my help.
Saturday we went into Saskatoon where Jaret and Terry went to see Cars 2 and Kirra and I went to visit my Grandma. But before heading back to Humboldt, we went to Rucker's again. We then had to get back to Terry's parents for the Suprise 25th Anniversary Celebration for Kim and Jackie. They had a feeling something was perhaps being planned but then so many things threw them off along the way. When they walked into the back yard and saw 45 or so people there to celebrate with them, they were so appreciative of the friends and family that had gathered for this milestone. It was a fun time and went on into the late evening.
Sunday was a beautiful day. We got up and enjoyed breakfast at Tim Horton's (yes, Humboldt now has a Tim Horton's). Enjoyed being outside and even went into the pool that Geoff and Nettie bought and had set up. It was so cold but also refreshing in the sun. Pizza was then ordered so we could all sit down to watch the Rider game. It was so great to finally see them pull off a win.
Monday we went into Saskatoon again. The kids and I spent the day at my girlfriend, Kelli's House. Sandra and Andrea also joined us with their kids. Last year when we had similar plans, it was a cool day and Andrea didn't make it as she had a flat tire and no way to get over to Kelli's. So, this year was just that much better as it was a beautiful, sunny day (+28). We had lunch on the deck, swam in the pool, and visited all afternoon. It was so wonderful to spend the day with my girls and catch up with them. Miss them so much! Thank you Kelli for hosting for the day ~ so appreciate your hospitality! While the kids and I were there, Terry enjoyed a golf game at the Willows. Great day for golf with his friend Danny and Terry golfed 18 holes with a score of 84. He felt pretty good about that.
The only downside to our trip to Humboldt was that Terry's Dad ended up in the hospital on the Monday. We visited him Monday night as we were leaving the next morning for Calgary. Geoff had gone into the hospital that morning with abdominal pain. They put him on pain meds and began doing testing. They think that he may have kidney stones and will continue to do some tests, including a CT scan next week in Saskatoon. We are praying that he will feel better soon.
