Blog

I apologize that it seemed I hadn't blogged since my visit to Regina and then suddenly, a few posts appeared. The blog site hasn't been working well on my mac. I had begun posts but then it wasn't letting me sign in to edit blog entries and add pictures. But, all seems to be working now.
A couple of things to write about. Friday night of the long weekend, the kids enjoyed a late night playdate at the Schulz's, playing with Brett, Erika, and Lexi while we went out to Broken Plate with Mike and Monica for supper. We enjoyed our meal and visiting with our friends. It was such a treat to go out for supper without the kids. To eat without any interruptions to our conversation, no kids begging to watch Caliou while we eat, or whining that they aren't hungry and don't want to eat what is put in front of them...I know you parents out there can relate - perhaps you are smirking at this as you read it.
We went back to get the kids and visited a little longer while the kids played. They all play well together and we enjoy watching them interact. But, the best part of the night, was our drive home. Jaret was full of questions that night about God and so the talk began. As we were talking and answering various questions he had, he said, "I don't want to go to Hell when I die. I want to live forever in Heaven." So Terry explained that the only way that can happen is for him to pray and ask Jesus into his heart. So, he said he would like to do that but that he would need help with the words. Terry would say a sentence at a time and Jaret repeated the words to his prayer. I tried to add a sentence or two but had tears in my eyes and was too choked up to say anything. It was such a special moment. He really has a heart for God and a heart full of love. Jaret then said that he hopes Kirra prays the same prayer one day so we can all live up in Heaven with Jesus. He is always thinking of others and showing such compassion.
Saturday was a beautiful day. Terry was out skiing with Mike. Yes, Spring skiing on May long weekend. They had a great day and said conditions were amazing. I didn't really have plans. So, when I awoke to the sun and warm weather, I got a cup of tea (in my Signature Smiles mug!), my breakfast, and sat on the deck. The kids joined me and had fun playing while I just sat and soaked in the sunshine. As I was sitting there, I saw my tulips had come up and that one was even in bloom! That made my decision. I decided to go to Costco and get my flowers so that I could do my potting. I spent the afternoon and into the evening getting all my pot completed but I am really happy with how they turned out. I am glad I got them finished because since then, we have had many dreary, rainy days.
Sunday was overcast and cool but we managed to get to Calaway Park for a bit in the afternoon. We have passes again this year. Terry and Jaret went on a number of rides and Kirra went on some of the kiddie rides. She is so similar to Jaret in how serious she looks while on a ride. You would think they aren't having any fun but then when they get off they always want to go again. Jaret was such a good, big brother and made sure he took Kirra on the boats a couple of times for the first rides of the day. Then Terry took the kids on these cars that go around and around but also bump up and down. Kirra was fine for the first bit but once the car started bumping up and down, she looked horrified and started fussing that she wanted off. I felt so bad for her. But, how do you know if they will like a ride or not if you don't try. She finished the ride but won't be going back on it anytime soon.
I will try to post some pics now and hope everything works with the computer.
Thanks for reading!

Thanks Mom. I am happy with how my pots turned out this year. Now we need some sun for them to grow.
Kids are doing well. Life is busy with them but so fulfilling.
