Happy Easter!

He Is Risen! He Is Risen Indeed! Happy Easter!
It was a long weekend for us but only with Good Friday off as Terry and I both work on Monday. Therefore, we weren't able to make the long trek to Saskatchewan to be with either of our families. So, we made plans to be with our own family right here.
Friday we spent most of the day around the house. The kids and I enjoyed colouring Easter eggs. It was nice that Kirra was able to also participate this year and was quite patient with the process. She was also gentle and didn't even break any eggs. She and Jaret kept stirring their egg around and then lifting it slightly to see whose egg was more colourful. It was cute watching them interact.
Saturday morning we drove out to Banff for the day. We walked around the townsite before lunch and made our regular stop at The Fudgery for chocolate. We met Mark and Shea and the boys for lunch at the Rimrock. The restaurant is set up in the lobby with couches and chairs and we enjoyed a delicious lunch with an amazing view. It was a cool day but the sun was shining and so we spent time just standing out on the deck overlooking the mountains and blue sky. After lunch we went to Bow Falls but didn't stay long as it was cool with the breeze. We managed to walk quite far out on the ice covered river. A late spring, indeed. We drove home in time for church as Terry was ushering and I was scheduled to work in the nursery.
Sunday we got up early and the kids enjoyed their egg hunt and finding their Easter baskets. For the last couple of years, Jaret and I have worked on putting the Easter story in sequential order as we retell the events of Easter. He is a little confused about the events leading up to Easter taking so long and thinks it should all just happen in one day. But, I am grateful that he understands the true meaning of Easter and that is also reinforced for him through school. Jaret was excited to play with his friends in the afternoon and the sun was shining. He spent time at the park with his friends Ethan and Kira, while our little Kirra slept. Sunday night, we enjoyed an Easter meal together as a family and then it was story time for the kids and off to bed. And that was our Easter weekend.
The week ahead will be busy as we have a few things on the go. Terry has a coaching clinic as he prepares to coach Jaret's t-ball this year. I will be babysitting McKinley and Everett tomorrow and have school work (which sometimes seems never ending) and Stella & Dot business to catch up on. And we are preparing for a Princess Birthday Party this weekend for Kirra as she turns two. Terry's parents will be coming to visit and will be here for the birthday festivities.
Hope that you all enjoyed your Easter weekend and that you were able to celebrate Jesus' Resurrection as the real meaning of Easter!
