Winter in Calgary?

It is February, winter in Calgary? I put a question mark behind that because the last couple of days have not felt like winter. Yesterday, it was sunny and +5, a perfect day for building a snowman. Today, it wasn't sunny but is warm with a temperature of +9 and the Chinook winds blowing. We are having some beautiful spring like weather. But, from what I hear, the snow that is now melting (and making a mess of our vehicles) will be replaced with new snow. The warm temperatures we are having, of course will not last, as we have more winter coming our way. According to Balzac Billy, we have 6 more weeks of winter. Even though his fellow groundhogs all agreed on an early spring in other parts of North America. Jaret thought it was funny that we have a day called Groundhog Day where the groundhog tells us about our weather and seasons. "Mom, we know that a groundhog can't be in charge because God made the seasons." True, my son, so very true.
