Jaret
~playing games together and seeing his competitive edge but also his kind heart when he tells me that I could maybe still catch up, even though I have been sent back to the beginning
~his plans and big ideas:
"Mommy, we need to visit Australia and then after seeing Australia, we can move there."
"Why do you want to live there, Jaret?"
"Because Uncle Tim and Auntie Lara live there and because it is hot and I can wear shorts all the time."
"It's flooding there right now. I think we should wait before visiting, don't you?"
"Yeah maybe we should wait a little while before we fly there."
"So, you think we should just move to Australia? Don't tell Daddy your plan because I think he would agree with you."
"Well, then let's do it (with enthusiasm)! Then Kirra can see her beach (the one she is named after). And we need to move there before Kirra turns 5."
"I guess you have it all figured out, don't you?"
"Yep."
~when Kirra made a mess and got yogurt in her hair he laughs and says, "Kirra, that makes me laugh all the way to Australia!"
~splashing around in the tub (sometimes with his goggles on!)
~his enthusiasm for school
~what he asks to dream of at night and prays about (Lexi's house, Legoland, Hawaii, Mexico)
~when he interrupts me just to say, "I love you, Mommy!"
~cuddles on the couch while eating popcorn together
~the sweet way he looks after his sister
Kirra
~turning her bib around so it becomes a cape (acting like her brother who got a superhero cape for Christmas)
~giving her dolls kisses
~playing with her puppies and making little barking noises (her way of communicating with them)
~pulling an unopened Diet Pepsi out of the pantry (a favourite place to play) and then pretends to drink it
~playing peek-a-boo
~chattering away with a number of words but mostly in her own little language
~quiet moments cuddled up reading books
~Kirra coming and pulling the blanket off me, crawling up into my lap, pulling the blanket back over us, and cuddling on the couch
~saying goodnight to her grandmas and grandpas each night before bed and blowing them kisses
The list is endless and could go on and on, as so many moments make me so thankful to be called "Mom." Who knew one's heart could be so full to overflowing...
