Twenty Days Until Christmas

It is December 5th which means that Christmas is just a few weeks away. I love this time of year. I love having the house decorated and getting into the spirit of the most wonderful time of the year. Celebrating Christmas is my favourite holiday and I love being with family and friends. I have just been working on our annual Christmas letter and card and realize that I must get it in the mail soon for it to arrive on time. In this age of technology, I forget how long actual mail can take to arrive to it's destination.
A little update on Kirra - she was to go for an EEG last week but it got rescheduled for Tuesday of this week. So, please continue to keep her in your prayers as she undergoes this procedure. And pray for answers so that we can be proactive in how to prevent any of these fainting/seizure type episodes in the future.
Although Christmas is just around the corner, I haven't even started any Christmas shopping. The lists are made but I didn't get to any shopping this weekend. I had hoped to but the weekend just didn't allow for it. Friday night I was busy working on some Stella & Dot while Terry was at work. He has a deadline that has had him working some long hours, resulting in late nights. Saturday, Terry took the kids to Market Mall while I had a Stella & Dot Christmas Open House. Then in the evening, Jaret and I went to church while Terry stayed home with Kirra. She needed to go to bed early as she has quite the cold right now. Sunday started with Jaret's swimming lessons. We came home for lunch and I decided at that point to stay in so Kirra could have a quiet day. She napped and the rest of the day we all just laid pretty low. Later in the afternoon, Terry took Jaret skating to the Oval where they met Mike and Brett. Jaret loves to skate and does quite well at it.
I have a few pictures of just time spent around the house the last bit that I thought I would include in this post. Jaret has been enjoying playing on the ipad and sometimes gets time before bed. His favourite game is "Angry Birds." A typical Sunday afternoon is Terry watching NFL in the bonus room, where the kids sometimes find him. This afternoon when I went up, Jaret was on the ipad and Terry on his Blackberry with Kirra crawling up on his lap.
Hope that with Christmas just weeks away, each of you is feeling the spirit of Christmas. Last night at church Anya, from the worship team, sang a solo of Amy Grant's Breathe of Heaven. It was sung beautifully and is a song that always reminds me of Christmas. Is it too early to start wishing people Merry Christmas?
