Jaret's 5th Birthday

Jaret is now 5 years old. The years go by so quickly. He had a fun birthday! He loved having a Seatle Seahawks themed birthday and it was fun for him and some others to wear their team jerseys. Although, we did have Lexi show up in a Miami Dolphins jersey rather than in Seahawks gear - lol! Jaret was thrilled to have so many friends at his party. We included parents as well, as we enjoy the afternoon of visiting with everyone as much as Jaret does playing with his friends. Thank you to everyone for the gifts. Jaret really did feel spoiled and appreciated your thoughtfulness and generosity. We will work on thank yous in the next couple of weeks. Thank you to all of you who were able to be here.
The week and weekend was so busy. Terry's parents actually drove up on Wednesday and stayed overnight. The purpose of their trip was to deliver our leather furniture for the bonus room. Thank you for doing that, Mom and Dad. We really like the new furniture and Terry has already been enjoying his "man cave" to watch NFL games.
My mom arrived on Thursday afternoon and was here to spend the weekend. It was a short trip and busy while she was here. I worked most of Friday and then Terry and I were out Friday night. Thanks for babysitting, Mom. The gala that Terry and I attended was for the Olympic Oval at The Glencoe Club. It was a fun evening. The theme was Casino Royale and so we did a little gambling - with play money.
Saturday was Jaret's birthday and then that evening, I had a Stella & Dot show. Mom joined me for that and needless to say we were tired by the time we got home. Sunday morning mom left so she could be home in time for the Rider game. Had she known how disappointing the outcome of the game might have been, maybe she would have stayed a little longer. I felt like the weekend was so busy that we didn't really get a chance to relax and visit. But, I guess that is just our life with work and kids. We don't seem to get much time to just sit with our feet up. However, I wouldn't wish this stage of life away becuase the time is already going by so quickly.
