Valentine's and Family Day

Jaret had a Valentine's Party at pre-school last week. He was excited about the crown he made, all the Valentine's he received, and the cupcakes they had at the party that had hearts in them. He did really well writing his name on all his Valentine's cards for his friends. We had Sophie over one afternoon to decorate Valentine's cookies. It was lots of fun. More of the icing went into their mouths though than actually got on the cookies. The cookies looked great when they were done. Sophie and Jaret also exchanged Valentine's with hugs and Kirra got her first Valentine from Sophie. Grandparents also like to spoil a bit so when we were in Regina, my parents bought the kids a Valentine's gift and Terry's parents mailed some. Jaret loves getting special packages in the mail and doesn't even mind that he has to share with his sister. Jaret and I made Terry a special Valentine fish that Jaret was so excited to give to Terry on Valentine's Day. It's great to show some extra love around this special day!
Family Day spent with Terry taking the kids to Tim Horton's for breakfast while I worked out at the gym. Then we took it easy around the house a bit and straightened up for more house showings. We went to the rec centre in Airdrie to go swimming as a family. It is hard to believe but this was Kirra's first time swimming. She was hesitant at first but as she got usd to it, she loved splashing around in the water. We had little doubt that she would enjoy it, as she loves her bathtime too and sometimes splashes so much that I need to give the mirror a good cleaning afterwards. We then went out for supper as we had more time we needed to fill before coming back home. Both kids were tired from the day and fell asleep in the vehicle before we made it home.
