Six Months

Kirra celebrated her half birthday yesterday. She is able to sit, with a little help. She rolls from front to back and back to front constantly to play. She likes bathtime and kicks her little legs while in the tub. She loves to find her feet and plays with them, even bringing them to her mouth to suck on her toes. She seems to enjoy her exersaucer, especially when her big brother is there to play with her. She loves jumping around in her jolly jumper and her legs are getting so strong. She is now eating solids; we started rice cereal last week and she loves it and starts fussing if I don't get it to her mouth fast enough. We weighed her today and she now weighs in at 13 lbs and 14 oz (quite petite). Sleep is not something Kirra seems to enjoy. I guess she doesn't take after her Mom on this one. Although she does fall asleep when being cuddled; maybe more like her Mom. I have put a soft pillow of mine in her crib (under the crib sheet) to help her feel more comfy and warm in her crib. Those crib mattresses can be so hard and cold, no wonder she would rather snuggle in bed with me! It seems to be helping but sleep is still something we are working on since she doesn't nap during the day (unless the car seat is moving). But despite the lack of sleep, she is a really content and happy baby. I feel like she is growing out of the baby stage too quickly though and am already missing it.
We love you, Kirra. You bring so much joy and happiness to our lives. Happy Half Birthday, Sweetheart!
