Wonderful Weekend

The weekend has come and gone and this is the first that I am getting around to posting anything. Terry's parents arrived on Friday afternoon. Jaret and I had just gotten home from a shopping trip that included buying him a new sprinkler. So the grandparents arrived just in time to help him set it up and enjoy what was left of the afternoon to run and play in the sprinkler. Terry got home early and after supper to went to show Geoff and Nettie our lot. They haven't begun digging yet - we are still waiting to sit and finalize our blueprints. The company is trying to get as many done at once so that they can do an assembly line of sorts - blueprints for each customer, dig all the basements, and use all the trades people at the same time for various jobs. It is just hard waiting. We are hoping to sit down with Centrex in the next week. Once the kids were asleep that evening, we got in a game of Jokers. The guys beat the girls and unfortunately we didn't have time to redeem ourselves and play again the rest of the weekend.
Saturday we were happy to see that the weather was sunny and the temperatures warm. We drove out to Elbow Falls in Kananskis to enjoy a picnic lunch. We got a table right by the river. Jaret enjoyed doing what he loves to do - throwing rocks into the river. I think this comes from being a boy but also from being Terry's son as Terry seems to enjoy this just as much. Terry would find the biggest rocks possible to throw into the water and see the big splash he created. Jaret loved this and would laugh and then say, "Throw another big rock in, Daddy!" After having a barbeque supper, we went to church and out to Dairy Queen for ice cream. While there, a fire truck pulled up. We went out to see it and Jaret even got to sit inside the fire truck with the fireman. I really wish I would have had the camera. Jaret thought it was cool that he got to go inside the fire truck.
Sunday we relaxed around the house. We slept in a bit and then got up and made waffles for brunch. It was another nice day so we enjoyed time in the backyard visiting and watching Jaret play. Being a Sunday we also thought it was perfect for a Sunday afternoon nap! Supper was enjoyed at Montana's where I was thrilled that Kirra slept so I could enjoy a meal with everyone - uniterrupted - lol! With Terry's parents here, the offer was extended for Terry and I to get out on our own for a bit (with Kirra obviously). We took them up on the offer and went for coffee to Starbuck's while the grandparents babysat. And that was the weekend.
Friday also marked Kirra turning one month old. It is hard to believe that one month has passed by so quickly. And Kirra is changing and growing each day. She now weighs 9 lbs and 7 oz. I took the classic picture of her with her teddy bear to mark her month birthday. I don't want to wish these days and moments away as they are much too precious. And at the same time, I really want the time to pass so that we can move into our new home. But I will keep reminding myself to enjoy each day that I am blessed with and live in the moment of all that God has blessed me with.
