Jaret Turns 3!

Jaret celebrated his 3rd birthday on Thursday. We went out for supper to Applebee's - his own choosing. While there we had a bit of a wait and a lady in line was commenting on how well behaved Jaret was to wait so patiently and asked how old he was. When she found out we were celebrating his birthday she pulled out a toonie and gave it to him. Jaret was so thrilled at how nice the lady was. What a kind gesture by a complete stranger.
On Saturday we had Jaret's birthday party and were so happy that many of Jaret's friends could join us. Hudson, Elle, Joseph, McKinley, and Baby Jacob all made it to the party along with parents. Jaret enjoyed playing trains with them and had lots of fun getting out the bowling set to show them. The most fun was not knocking over the pins with the balls but then running and sliding into them to knock them over. Jaret was blessed by the gifts his friends brought. After the gift opening we had cake and shortly after his friends left. Jaret gave them their treat bags and some balloons to take home and when everyone left and Mom and Dad were cleaning up asked, "Can we do that again later?" Ummmm, let's wait a year!
Today we went to the 11 o'clock service and then made it home in time to eat lunch and start watching the Rider game. We were glad that the Riders finally pulled off a win and hope it gives them momentum into next weekend to win in Edmonton. After the game, I had a nap while Terry took Jaret swimming. It is hard to believe that weekends go so fast and I feel like I could still use another day or two. Looking forward to the week ahead as I will have a doctor's appt. and an ultrasound to check on how our newest little one is doing. Will keep you updated.
Have a good week!
