Busy Fall

As I look back over the last month or so, I realize that I have not done many updates. I guess that is a sign of how busy things have been. But all is going well and we just have been enjoying life and our weekends as a family.
A couple of weekends ago Jaret went to Cochrane with Terry. While he was there he had his face painted as a tiger. He made the cutest little tiger and kept roaring, "Just like a tiger, Mommy," he kept saying.
There have also been birthday parties to attend as some of Jaret's little friends have turned three, and Jaret will celebrate his 3rd birthday in just a couple of weeks time. It is so hard to believe.
Jaret also started swimming lessons this past weekend. Although, during the lesson he seemed a little grumpy and didn't want to blow bubbles or do his front/back float. Hopefully this will improve as he usually loves the water.
When we're around home, Jaret has been playing with his trains, puzzles and cars. He loves his parking garage and was seen last week trying to slide down the little slide meant for cars - I think he did it just to get a laugh out of us.
Jaret is also hitting the stage of proving his independence more and more. This was evident the other day when Terry was reminding him that he needed to co-operate or he would get a time-out. Jaret simply said, "No, maybe I will just run away to Saskatoon." So, even before the age of three, he has threatened that if things don't go his way, he will simply run away. Yikes. We might be in trouble in his teen years!
Jaret is so excited for this coming weekend though. We are heading to Edmonton for the weekend for Terry's CGA Convocation. Terry's parents will meet us there and we have already promised Jaret a trip to the waterpark so he keeps counting down the sleeps until Friday and says, "We are so excited to go to Edmonton, right Mommy?"
Hope you each have a great long weekend. Happy Thanksgiving!
