September Long Weekend

The September Long Weekend has come and gone and with it, so has summer. We had a wonderful long weekend with Terry's parents visiting. Terry and his Dad got in some golfing. They were at Mount Lorette, Kananaskis on Saturday and then Beaver Dam on Monday. They had great weather and enjoyed their golf games. Terry's mom and I were able to do some shopping on Saturday and Nettie even spent time playing with Jaret at Kids at Play - Market Mall. That evening we planned to eat out at Olive Garden but the wait was too long so we walked over to The Keg and got in right away. It was a delicious meal - complete with Billy Miner Pie for dessert - a favourite of mine and Jaret's too obviously, as he kept wanting more of our dessert. Sunday we spent the morning at the zoo. Jaret enjoyed seeing the different animals. I think his favourite was the hippos. The area they have the hippos in actually allows you to see the hippos under the water. He was pretty amazed when one came right along side him. Sunday afternoon Jaret had a nice long sleep which worked perfect for our plans of watching the Rider game. It was a great game and we were so proud of our Riders for winning it in the final minutes of the game - always down to the wire! The Riders know how to keep it exciting for their fans! Monday, Nettie spent time with Jaret taking him to the park while the boys were golfing and I worked out at the gym. It was a quiet day with just some visiting and then we ate out at The Old Spaghetti Factory that evening. Eating out that night was a little much for Jaret and he wanted to be outside the restaurant exploring rather than sitting and eating - after all, he was done eating. What can we really expect of an almost 2 year old? While Terry's parents were here, we also got in a few games of Jokers. We switched teams around a couple times but it seems that Terry was always the victor and Jenn was on the opposite end of the spectrum. All in all, it was a very relaxing and enjoyable weekend. Why can't every weekend be a long weekend? With the long weekend behind us, we get back into more of a routine. I have been back to work most of August, but students have just started school this week and things are keeping me busy. I am looking forward to the new year though and all that it brings. Hope that you each enjoyed your long weekend and we'll be in touch.
~Jenn

PS - I wanted to put more photos on this post, however, I am learning how to use our new mac and the vertical pics are all sideways. Not sure how to fix that when publishing the photos. Hopefully I will figure it out soon and can add vertical pictures.

Sept. 10 - Thanks to my friends Laura and Tanis, I was able to learn how to properly store and download pictures to my website - so, I added some more pics of our long weekend with Terry's parents.

Hey Jenn - took me awhile for the vertical pictures too. I think what I found out when I load them is to pick from the modified folder from my pictures, not the original as it is considered modified once the iphoto changes it by itself. Make sense? If not, and you think this might be the same, I can walk you through better.

Nice to hear you are doing well!
