Summer has arrived!

Summer has officially begun. The weather has been beautiful here. I have enjoyed spending the last few nights sitting on the deck just reading until it is too dark to read any longer. Our long weekend has come and gone but it was a great weekend. Filled with visiting and relaxing as well. We spent holiday Monday in Canmore. We met our friends Pam and Terry and their two kids for lunch and then went on a hike. We hiked Heart Creek. I was so impressed by how well Jayden and Brenna did hiking all that way. They were exhausted by the end - as were the rest of us. It was a perfect day for a hike.

Today, Jaret and I spent the afternoon outside enjoying the sunshine. But, we were protected with lots of sunscreen (especially after getting a slight lecture from my doctor about the importance of not just children wearing sunscreen). Jaret had lots of fun splashing around in his pool. By about 7 pm, it was time to drag him inside. It was a bit of a fight, but we finally managed. He is a boy that loves the outdoors. I think, given the chance, he would be more than content to even sleep outside. Maybe we'll have to plan an evening campout one day soon!
