Hot, Hot, Hot!

It sure was hot here today. And it isn't expected to cool down anytime in the near future. With the weather this warm, the only place Jaret and I want to be is around water, Jaret especially. He just can't seem to get enough of it. Today we spent a couple of hours at Riley Park, in the paddling pool. It was busy because of the heat, but it was so refreshing. We met Sherri and her two children (Liam - 5 and Carys - 2 1/2). It is fun watching Jaret try to keep up with Liam - pretty much impossible so he is content to hang out with Carys. It is so fun watching Jaret splash around. And when he takes a tumble into the water, and swallows some of the water, it doesn't even really seem to phase him. He just gets back up, laughs and continues to try to splash Mom - especially when I have the camera. The pictures are of Jaret enjoying some watermelon, a chocolate covered donut (what a mess he was!), and of him in the water.
Tomorrow we are thinking of heading to the parade, but we will play it by ear as to how long we stay, depending on the spot we get and how hot the temperature soars. But, Stampede is here and I can't help but want to get into the spirit of it a bit.
The evenings are cooling down somewhat. The last number of nights, we've been enjoying relaxing on the deck. It has been perfect, in fact, I think that's where I will head right now for a bit. Hope you all have a great weekend!
