Quality Time

Every Christmas holiday, the kids and I make up a Christmas Holiday FUN List. Not all to do lists are fun but this one always is. My kids actually like to do lists. In fact, often when I have jobs for them, rather than just tell them the tasks, they ask for a list so that they can follow it and check things off = a sense of accomplishment. Our Christmas Holiday FUN List was a little hampered by the freezing cold weather over the holidays but we managed to get most of the list completed and created so many memories in doing so.

√ Starbucks Date with Mom

√ Tim's Date with Dad

√ Sledding - Tubing at Norquay

√ Skiing - we wanted to get out 2-3 times but with the weather we only managed to get out once since the weather started warming up right when Terry was back to work

Skating - Jaret did go skating as part of a play date, but we didn't get out as a family over the holidays

√ Theatre Movie Date - The kids and I went to see Ferdinand and it was really a cute movie

√ Play Date - We had a number of play dates over the holiday, including bowling and ice cream one afternoon but forgot to snap a picture

√ Mother-Daughter Date to The Nutcracker

√ Father-Son Date - Burgers and Badminton

√ Family Game Night - We had lots of these over the holidays

√ Family Movie Nights - We also had lots of movie nights and afternoons with the weather being so cold. I think we ate more than our share of popcorn.

Mother - Daughter time over tea & hot chocolate

Playing some Racko with Jaret, until he got tired of me beating him. So then we decided to eat some popcorn, cuddle up and watched some National Geographic Shark shows.

Kirra enjoying a play date with Reese - Lego & American Girls - life is good.

The weather was great this day for the boys to spend the afternoon on the rink.

Lake Minnewanka for the morning

Tubing @ Norquay for the afternoon

Today was back to school and back to routine. The kids got to bed a littler earlier the last couple of nights so this morning wasn't so bad getting them up and going. In fact, since I didn't do the same, it was likely more difficult on me than it was on them. I guess holidays can't last forever! But I had kind of gotten used to staying up late, sleeping in a little, and enjoying the leisurely pace of the mornings for devotions and workouts. But, that will have to wait until the next break...
