Halloween 2015

The kids and I have never experienced carving pumpkins and when I mentioned the idea to the kids, they were excited about giving it a try.  However, I left it too late to find a pumpkin and was told that Calgary had a shortage of pumpkins in the city so most places had been out for quite some time.  Oh well, I guess we will have to buy pumpkins a little earlier next year.

Trick-or-treating was always something I remember doing as a child.  Even on the coldest of nights, we would bundle up with our ski jackets on, sometimes underneath our costume if possible and out we would go with Dad bundling up to take us.  And so it is tonight that Terry takes the kids out trick-or-treating - but really only treating.  The weather is beautiful with the temperature being +9 and no snow this year.  That makes it a nicer evening for the little princesses and superheroes, and for the parents taking them around.

Jaret dressed as Ironman this year and Kirra as Princess Anna.  After trick-or-treating, we went over to Mark and Shea's house for the kids to have a movie night and the adults to have a games night. Usually our church hosts an amazing carnival for kids but took a break from it this year.  The kids were disappointed at first but when we told them we would do something with McKinley, Ev, and Brecken, the were excited.

Happy Halloween!

We stopped to say hello to Kirra's friend, Dawson.  Kirra took him a treat bag and gave him lots of hugs before we left.

All cuddled up and ready for movie time.  They already look kind of tired.

The adults played Settlers of Catan - Shea won for the record, boys.
