Halloween - this isn't a holiday that is celebrated at the school but Kirra's Kindergarten class got to celebrate Noah's Ark Day after learning about God's promise over the last month. Kirra was so thrilled about this special day because it meant that she got to dress up as an animal and she chose to be a giraffe. It was extra special to her because the giraffe costume was handed down from her cousin Ayden. However, this also made her a little sad as she reminded me again how much she misses her cousin. The day before the Noah's Ark Party, Kirra got into the vehicle and was going on and on about the special day they were to have at school. In dramatic Kirra fashion she went on to gush over the fact that Petland would also be visiting the school. As she was enthusiastically sharing this detail, she casually threw in that she hoped that Petland would remember to bring a giraffe. She sometimes says the funniest things that just remind me again what precious gifts we have in children. Petland did not remember to bring a pet giraffe but perhaps next year... One little boy in the class asked if, with the special visit from Petland, they would each get to keep a pet to take home. Now wouldn't that be a shocker for the parents at pick up time!

Just had to share a few pics of the kids from Halloween. They had a great evening that included trick or treating. Terry took the kids out, along with Jaret's friend from down the street, Abe. Afterwards I took the three of them to the church for the annual carnival that our church puts on. It was fantastic as usual. I am so impressed with how well done this event is every year and with the many volunteers that generously give of their time to make it happen. The kids had a wonderful time and Jaret and Abe agreed that it was one of the best Halloween's ever. I think it may have had something to do with one of the stations at the church in which the boys put on Velcro suits and were then thrown up onto the wall. Fun times!
This princess decided she would prefer her own hair to the itchy princess hair.
