I feel so blessed in my life. This blog is to share those blessings with our loved ones who live too far away to share in the joys we encounter on a daily basis. It is my mission to live a life that is full of gratitude and have a heart that is full of gratitude. Hope that you are taking the time to experience the joy in your life and to be grateful for your many blessings. ~ "When we lose one blessing, another is often, most unexpectedly, given in its place." ~C.S. London Day at Pre-School
Life has been so hectic in my new job as Resource Coordinator at the school. And I am usually an organized person and check my calendar regularly. Yesterday when I was dropping Kirra off at school, I planned to eat my lunch and then I had a meeting scheduled at the AB Children's Hospital. However, my plans quickly changed when I realized it was my day to be parent volunteer in Kirra's classroom (not Thursday like I thought it was). So, being a mom comes first and I dropped everything that my plans entailed for the afternoon so I could enjoy time in Kirra's class. It was a wonderful afternoon in the classroom as they were learning about London. This is a little ironic as I am off to London next week to meet't my girlfriend, Shea.
So the afternoon in the classroom started with the kids designing their crowns (just like the queen). Then they got a postcard from Mr. Mouse saying that he was in London and enjoying the sites. They learned the nursery rhyme, "Hickory, Dickory Dock." It was so cute hearing them sing:
Hickory Dickory Dock,
The mouse ran up the clock.
The clock struck one,
The mouse ran down.
Hickory Dickory Dock.
Hickory Dickory Dock,
The mouse ran up the clock.
The clock struck two,
The mouse yelled "Boo!"
Hickory Dickory Dock.
Hickory Dickory Dock,
The mouse ran up the clock.
The clock struck three,
The mouse cried, "Whee!"
Hickory Dickory Dock.
They also had a tea party using real china and crumpets. Most of the kids didn't care for the crumpets but that could have been because they didn't have jam on them. They all loved drinking the tea (iced tea) out of fancy tea cups. So adorable!
