Full Afternoon of Preschool & "Balalet"

Kirra had a busy day last Tuesday. She had her first full afternoon of preschool. I was scheduled to be in the classroom as a volunteer. Kirra enjoyed her afternoon but for me it was full of challenges. There were half a dozen children screaming and crying as they weren't transitioning well and missed mom. There are many ESL students at the preschool Kirra attends with it being located in the NW of Calgary. Language was a barrier in trying to calm them down, but between the teacher, Educational Assistant, and myself, we managed the afternoon. It was also busy with bathroom breaks and having to deal with a couple of potty accidents. After spending the afternoon in three-year old preschool, I did kind of question why I had enrolled Kirra so early. However, Kirra did wonderful and is ready to be in school. She made a friend with a little girl named Mylie and they enjoyed playing in the kitchen, with the dolls, and completed a craft activity. Kirra had fun when it was time for gym. She was full of energy. After her first full afternoon, she felt like such a big girl. Following preschool that afternoon we went and picked Jaret up from school and we were off to Kirra's first dance class - Tiny Toes. It is a class of 3-5 year olds. She was so excited! All she could talk about was taking "Balalet" (or ballet). She was more than happy to pose for pictures before class and then once we got to the studio, she made a friend immediately. After her first class, she showed us how nicely she could walk and pose like a perfect little dancer. Absolutely adorable! The class in unparented so while she is dancing away, Jaret and I go for a Mommy-Son Date to Starbucks. I love this time with Jaret. It allows me time to talk about his day at school over his vanilla steamer and a game (usually Battleship is his pick). Treasured Moments! I feel so blessed!
