Where to begin...
We had our ultrasound this week and are happy to report that baby is healthy and growing well. We also found out that our little baby is a girl. We are all very excited about the news. We have a name picked out already but will keep that a secret until baby is born. However, Jaret seems to think that we should name our baby - ready for it - grilled cheese sandwich! He told us this over supper one night and we couldn't help but laugh at his idea of a name that he thinks is quite normal. I am 19 1/2 weeks along now and feeling well. By belly is growing slightly but my weight gain has been very good so far. A couple recent pictures are attached.
We have tried to stay close to home most of the weekend. Saturday night however, we took Jaret over to play with McKinley and be babysat by Chelsey (Shea's sister). Then Mark, Shea, Terry, and I went to The Broken Plate for our annual Christmas celebration for supper. It was a wonderful evening, despite the fact that I couldn't enjoy any of the flaming cheese (soft cheese is something to stay away from in pregnancy). But Mark, Shea, and Terry enjoyed it - three orders of it, I might add. If you haven't ever gone to that restaurant, we highly recommend it. Last night I enjoyed their Greek Ribs and ceasar salad and it was delicious! After warm drinks and dessert (which Mark ordered and we all said we wouldn't eat and then made liars of ourselves) we enjoyed the Greek dancing. The restaurant is always so vibrant and festive! It was worth fighting the cold weather.
With the weather so cold outside, the best place to be is cuddling under a blanket with the fire on and the glow of the lights from the tree and mantle or napping. Both of which we have all been doing more of with this cold weather. One afternoon Jaret even fell asleep on the couch with his friends. He told me his friends weren't feeling well and that he wanted them to get better so he thought they should cuddle and have a nap with him. He is so nurturing.
Jaret and I spent the day at home today doing some crafts while Terry went out to run some errands. We made a paper chain to hang in his room and coloured his very own nativity that is also decorating his room. After Jaret's nap, he really wanted to go out. So we bundled him up and Terry took him to the grocery store for a few things. He loves being bundled in all his snow gear. Tim and Lara, if you are reading this, count yourselves lucky that you don't have to bundle up like this when going out. Wish we could all live in Australia! Although, I do enjoy all the snow and Christmas would not seem like Christmas without the snow (and cold?).
That's really all the news here for now. Hope you are all staying inside and keeping warm!

Congrats on reaching the half way point in your pregnancy! Now, you can start counting down instead up up! 19 1/2 more weeks to go...
I'm glad you and the Tysdal's enjoyed your dinner out. That is a great tradition.
