Sleep Tight

We did it! We dismantled Jaret's crib on Friday night and put him in his big boy bed. Well, just on the mattress on the floor to begin with. It was initiated by Jaret on Friday night when he just didn't seem to want to sleep in his crib. I would have tried just lying him on our bed and then transfer him to the crib once asleep, however, our room is to bright in the evening. So, a decision was made, move Jaret's mattress up and let him try sleeping on it. We didn't anticipate having to dismantle the whole crib, as I know it was a bit of a risky move, but we couldn't get it out of the bedroom any other way. Jaret was so excited about the changes and he has done so well adjusting to sleeping in his big boy bed. He has slept through the night both nights (until 8:30 am), without getting out of bed. It did take some encouraging and teaching, but he was obviously ready. We are so proud of our big boy!

It has been a nice weekend of just taking it easy. Yesterday we watched the Rider game. It was great to finally see a win out of them (54-14 over Edmonton Eskimos). They did great on the turnovers - made for a fun game to watch. Today we have just been hanging out around the yard, splashing in the pool and running through the sprinkler. It has been very relaxing. Hope you are all keeping cool!
