Hello Everyone! It is so good to be home. We had a wonderful trip to Saskatchewan. Jaret and I were there for two weeks and Terry was with us for the last week of the trip. We really enjoyed spending time with family and friends and regret that we didn't get a chance to see everyone. The time flew by much too quickly.
Jaret and I drove from Calgary to Regina. It rained the entire way - I think we were traveling with the system. However, Jaret traveled very well, despite not sleeping very much. We had a short stay in Regina before heading to Saskatoon. Saskatoon was great and I was so blessed to spend time with many different friends. One evening was spent with some girlfriends over supper and dessert and then the next afternoon we spent time with our kids at a spray park - it was a perfectly hot day for it! It was so much fun! That is one of the many things I miss about Saskatoon - hanging out with my girlfriends and their children. After a couple of short days in Saskatoon, we were off to Prince Albert. We attended my aunt's wedding. It was enjoyable spending some time with my aunt's and their families - it had been a long time since we had all been together. A highlight of the wedding was dancing the evening away with Jaret. He couldn't get enough of it - which I of course didn't mind. Terry flew in to Saskatoon on the Monday and we drove up to Waskesiu. Terry's family joined us that first day and we spent the afternoon on the beach and then having a family barbeque. It was a great way to start our time at the lake. And Jaret was thrilled with a gift of a little lawn mower from his grandparents. He pushed his lawnmower over grass, cement, sand, and even in the water. He couldn't get enough of it. The weather in Waskesiu was fabulous and we were able to spend lots of time on the beach, in the water, and of course pushing Jaret on the swings. We enjoyed spending time on the boat with our friends Mark and Shea. Shea even got out for a ski - McKinley was with Grandma back at the cabin and our time on the boat was limited to McKinley's feeding time - it all worked out well. Jaret seemed to enjoy the boat, for the most part. He didn't love having the life jacket on - they don't really allow for comfortable movement. Jaret seemed to get annoyed and fussy anytime we would stop to allow someone to get ready for a ski. He wanted the boat to be in constant motion. Waskesiu also allowed us time to walk around the townsite and enjoy ice cream from the Big Olaf - a little too frequently. It is tradition though. I'm not sure who enjoyed it more, Terry or Jaret. After our time in Waskesiu, we spent a night in Humboldt with Terry's family. It was relaxing but again, much too short. From Humboldt it was through Saskatoon to visit friends Ruth and Sean and their little boy, Clive. We even got a sitter so the four of us could go out for supper. From there, it was homeward bound. It was with mixed emotions we left - we miss our friends and family in Saskatchewan but we love our life in Calgary and it was good to get home.
I hope that each of you is enjoying the summer and the hot weather that we have been having lately.
