Relaxation

Wow! I just got home from the ultimate spa experience. Terry bought me a gift certificate for Valentine's Day. After all the spring cleaning I've been doing (even though we again have snow here today), I figured it was time to indulge and use my gift certificate. I was able to relax with a facial and hot stone massage therapy at Riverside Spa.
Let me tell you about my spa experience. After I changed into a robe, I relaxed in front of the fireplace until I was taken in for the facial. The facial was wonderful and made my skin feel so fresh and rejuvenated. With the facial, they also give you a bit of a massage - by this point I was feeling very relaxed. There was some time in between my facial and massage so I went and sat in the steam room. It was steamy alright, I couldn't even see in front of me. The steam room smelled of eucalyptus - very calming. Then it was time for my hot stone massage. The stones were warmer than I imgained they would be. They don't put all the stones directly on your skin, usually they put them on top of one of the thin blankets and you feel the heat radiate through. One thing that did surprise me is that they put tiny stones between your toes! That felt a little strange. If you have never had a hot stone massage - I would definately recommend one. I don't know how people go back to regular massages once they have tried the hot stone massage therapy. After all of that, I was able to have a cup of tea while relaxing in front of the fire. I felt so pampered - the afternoon at the spa was definately soothing and very tranquil!
